Great to meet you!

Dina graduated from Columbia University's School of Social Work with a focus on health, mental health, and disabilities. Dina has five years of post-graduate experience specializing in oncology-focused counseling as well as guiding those who experience anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, stressful life transitions, and dating difficulties.

My approach to therapy

Dina tailors her therapeutic approach to fit each of her client's needs, combining CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and strengths-based perspectives. Dina firmly believes in open dialogue in the therapeutic space, treating each client as the expert in their own lives, while simultaneously helping them navigate whatever difficulties them may be experiencing. Dina encourages her clients to practice self-compassion and patience with oneself, in addition to getting curious about the internal and external stressors that affect one's happiness and sense of autonomy.

What you can expect from me

I make a significant effort to ensure that the therapeutic space that I provide is a safe one regardless of your race, sexual/gender identity, ethnicity, religion, or culture. I tailor my therapeutic approach to meet each client's needs, whether that means providing a space for you to simply vent, or to challenge you if you seek to create change in your life. Most importantly, I have much experience counseling those affected by cancer, whether it be patient, caregiver, or bereaved. In a world where few people understand the emotional complexities of cancer, I can be that person in your life who just "gets it."
