Great to meet you!

Dinnette A. Medina is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania. She earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Clinical Psychology and Masters of Arts in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling from Kutztown University. Some other passions include supporting women’s empowerment workshops on several different platforms, conducting conversations and training related to various topics such as self-care, human sexuality, trauma awareness, and life balance.

Dinnette is bilingual in Spanish and English and loves serving the Latino community. Her approach is person centered, focusing on empowerment and Reality Theory. Dinnette enjoys working with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds and marginalized groups, including the LGBTQ+ population.

As a trained Marriage and Family Therapist, I understand that working with the entire family unit whenever possible is key to ensuring the success of the individual. I am comfortable working with children, adolescents, and adults.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My therapy approach is affirming, person-centered, and I greatly enjoy getting to know you as an individual as well as understanding you in the various contexts you present in on a regular basis (in a relationship, as a family member, as a parent or child, at work, in the community, etc). My therapeutic orientations are client-centered and feminist/empowering, and I am trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Reality Therapy.

What you can expect from our first session

I am spiritual, a mother, and a Puerto Rican Ecuadorian American. I was raised in a blended family being the youngest of 8 (!) children. These lived experiences have shaped me and aided in my desire to understand and care deeply about family dynamics when I am working with couples, families, youth, and those from diverse backgrounds.

I offer individual therapy, couple’s therapy, and family therapy to folks in Pennsylvania.

I work both virtually and in-person depending on scheduling and your needs.
