Great to meet you!

I believe with a little help, you can be your own change. If you've been struggling with addiction, trauma, or the weight of navigating life after contact with the justice system, I've spent more than 25 years working at exactly that intersection. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in Texas with deep experience in the criminal justice, mental health, and substance use fields. Before private practice, I spent decades working directly with people the system had often already written off. I work with adolescents, adults, and seniors dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and co-occurring conditions.

My approach to therapy

My approach is relaxed, open-minded, and tailored to each person. No two clients, or two stories, are the same. I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Seeking Safety, CBT, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Gottman Method for couples, choosing what fits the work we're doing together. Seeking Safety in particular is designed for people navigating trauma and addiction at the same time — a combination I've worked with throughout my career. I create a space where you can connect your thoughts and emotions to your behaviors and start building something different.

What you can expect from me

We start with an introductory session, where you’ll have the opportunity to share your experiences, concerns, needs and what you hope to accomplish in therapy. We will work collaborative on anticipated outcomes and goals for your individualized services. I strive to create a warm, welcoming environment that allows you to feel comfortable sharing and being vulnerable, while also feeling safe.
