Great to meet you!

Disheba Weathersby, PMHNP-BC

Life can feel overwhelming when you're struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, mood changes, or other mental health challenges. You don't have to navigate it alone. My goal is to provide a supportive, judgment-free space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to take steps toward feeling better.

As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of healthcare experience, I work with children, adolescents, and adults facing a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, trauma-related disorders, substance use concerns, and behavioral challenges.

I believe that treatment should be personalized because no two people have the same story. Together, we will create a treatment plan that fits your unique needs, whether that includes medication management, supportive therapy, coping strategies, or coordination with other members of your care team.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and focused on helping you build stability, improve daily functioning, and achieve your personal goals. Whether you're experiencing symptoms for the first time or have been struggling for years, I am committed to helping you move forward with confidence and support.

I provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management for children, teens, and adults through convenient telehealth appointments across Texas.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. I believe that every person’s experiences, challenges, and goals are unique, which is why I take the time to listen, understand your concerns, and develop a treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs.

I combine evidence-based medication management with supportive therapeutic interventions, education, and practical coping strategies to help clients achieve meaningful and lasting improvements in their mental health. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable discussing your concerns openly and actively participating in your treatment decisions.

My goal is not only to reduce symptoms but also to help you build resilience, improve daily functioning, strengthen relationships, and enhance your overall quality of life. I view treatment as a partnership, and I work closely with clients, therapists, primary care providers, and other members of the healthcare team when appropriate to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, you can expect a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where we will take time to get to know one another. We will discuss your current concerns, symptoms, personal history, previous treatment experiences, medical history, and goals for care. This comprehensive evaluation helps me gain a better understanding of your unique needs and allows us to develop an individualized treatment plan.

If medication is appropriate, we will discuss available options, potential benefits, risks, and any questions you may have. I also provide education about your diagnosis, coping strategies, and recommendations for additional support services when beneficial.

My goal is for you to leave the first appointment feeling heard, understood, and informed about the next steps in your treatment journey. Together, we will create a plan that supports your mental health goals and overall well-being.
