Great to meet you!

Hi there! I'm Dolly, lover of nature and all that is wild. I hug trees and love the smell of dirt.

I have experience working with young adults, adults and families in various capacities including community mental health centers, wilderness therapy programs and in home behavioral intervention programs. More recently I have worked individually with young adult women who are looking to incorporate nature and meditation into their healing modalities.

During a sabbatical I have had the opportunity to assist others with using the uplifting and healing benefits of nature as an interpretive guide in the Southwest and as a park ranger for the National Park Service. I have a passion for the outdoors and the healing qualities it provides. I use a holistic approach with clients taking into account the body, mind and spirit connection.

My approach to therapy

Mindfulness-based Therapy is a method of healing by using your own awareness of being aware to transcend recurring difficulties and struggles. By becoming aware of thoughts, opinions, attitudes and ideas that act as road blocks to living a happy life, one can transcend into living a harmonious, joyful existence that serves all beings on the planet.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we will review your reasons for deciding to participate in counseling as well as some of the benefits and limitations of counseling. Expect to be met by a warm and caring individual who finds it a privilege to be a part of another's healing journey. It is important to know your commitment to helping yourself and using the practices we discuss in sessions will determine the success of treatment.
