Hello! I am Dominique Furukawa and I am a licensed clinical social worker in California. I work with adults, couples and families. I have walked with clients through journeys involving grief and loss, anxiety, relationship issues, career challenges, trauma, infidelity and abuse. I have specific interest in working with adults and families in stages of transition as well as survivors of institutional, race-based and spiritual trauma.
My therapy style is warm and interactive. I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and also provide short term solution focused interventions as needed. I have additional professional training in the Trauma Resiliency Model and Trust Based Relational Interventions (TBRI). I gladly integrate spiritual beliefs & practices into our sessions if you desire. Additionally, I welcome those experiencing race based trauma & those in seasons of exploration regarding racial identity formation.
