Anxiety, Depression, and Stress

Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Board Certified Counselor, with 10 years of professional experience. I enjoy helping clients work through challenges including stress, anxiety, depression, adult ADHD, as well as parenting dilemmas, anger management, life changes, and career obstacles.

I have a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I also have Bachelor's and Master's degrees in music education, so I am a teacher at heart!

A bit about my approach to therapy

I believe in setting goals to improve our mental health and overall wellness, and in the power of being active in therapy. Homework is essential.

My approaches to treatment include Attachment-Based Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness and somatic therapies, and Solution-Focused Therapy.

What you can expect from our first session

I try to work with clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I think of myself as solution-focused but realize that many challenges do not have an immediate solution.

Therefore, my goal is to listen actively and attempt to guide clients toward progress in each session.

My hope is that after 1-2 sessions, clients may notice a difference in how they feel.
