Great to meet you!

There’s a particular moment many people reach in adulthood where things on the outside look settled—but internally something feels different.

Maybe you’re more anxious than you used to be. Maybe motivation feels lower. Maybe relationships feel harder to navigate, or you’ve started questioning decisions you once felt confident about. Or maybe life just doesn’t feel as fulfilling or aligned as it once did.

I’m Donald, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 28 years of experience working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, identity concerns, relationship challenges, sleep difficulties, and the emotional complexity that often comes with midlife and later-life transitions.

Many of the people I work with are high-functioning, responsible, and capable—but quietly wondering, “Why doesn’t this feel the way I thought it would?”

Therapy is a space to explore that honestly, without judgment, and begin making sense of what’s changing internally.

My approach to therapy

My approach is supportive, collaborative, and grounded in helping clients better understand both their current challenges and the life experiences that shaped them.

I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, psychodynamic insight work, and humanistic therapy. I tailor the work to each person rather than forcing a single method, because no two lives—or life transitions—look the same.

A large part of my work involves helping clients recognize patterns that may not be as visible as acute symptoms, such as gradual increases in anxiety, shifts in motivation, changes in sleep, emotional disconnection, or difficulty feeling satisfied even when life appears stable on the surface.

Together, we focus on understanding what’s changing, what still fits, and what may need to evolve.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll talk about what brought you here and what you’ve noticed shifting in your life or emotional experience. You don’t need to have it all figured out—many people come in simply with a sense that something feels “off” or different than it used to.

Over time, clients often begin to feel more grounded, more emotionally steady, and more clear about what they want and need moving forward. For some, that looks like reduced anxiety or improved sleep. For others, it’s a renewed sense of direction, identity clarity, or more intentional decision-making in relationships and work.

Therapy with me is not about overcomplicating your life—it’s about understanding it clearly enough to move through it with more confidence and ease.

If you’re at a point where life feels different than it used to—and you’re ready to understand why and what comes next—I would be glad to work with you.
