Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Donna Watson. My varied professional and counseling experience has allowed me to work with people from diverse backgrounds and life circumstances. These experiences have shaped my belief that each person deserves to be seen, heard, and understood for who they are.

I believe there is power in staying true to yourself. Life experiences and the expectations of others can sometimes cause us to lose sight of who we are and leave us feeling anxious, depressed, frustrated, or unfulfilled. I provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore what may be holding you back, recognize your strengths, and move toward becoming your authentic self.

I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups ages 16 and older. My areas of practice include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, grief, ADHD, relationship and work-related concerns, men’s and women’s issues, LGBTQ+ concerns, anger management, and batterer intervention.

Taking the first step toward counseling takes courage. My goal is to meet you where you are, build a foundation of trust and respect, and empower you to create a healthy, safe, and fulfilling life that aligns with what is true to you.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is eclectic and grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while incorporating elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I tailor therapy to each client’s individual needs, recognizing that there is no single approach that works for everyone.

Together, we will explore the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing practical skills to navigate challenges, strengthen self-awareness, and create meaningful change. I also believe in the importance of acceptance, personal values, and learning to respond to life’s challenges in ways that are consistent with who you are and the life you want to live.

My goal is to provide a supportive, collaborative environment where you feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout your therapeutic journey.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my goal is to help you feel comfortable, welcomed, and at ease. I’ll greet you, help you get settled in the space, and answer any questions or concerns you may have. We’ll review your paperwork and informed consent, and then complete your initial intake. This first meeting also gives us an opportunity to begin getting to know one another and discuss what brings you to therapy and what you hope to accomplish.
