Hi, You have taken the second step in accomplishing your goal. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor. I've had the opportunity to provide counseling to people in a group practice, outpatient OASAS licensed program, inpateint detox, inpatient psychiatric unit, emergency room and residential program and a welleness program. My graduate education was completed at Pace University and Long Island University. I look forward to the oportunity to listen, provide a non-judgmental space and provide therapeutic support during this time in your life.

I believe a sense of humor is an important compenent developing resilence and navigating transitions and difficulties in life. I endeavor to create a space in therapy where we work together, not me leading you but us working together. Identifying strengths and resources( culture, hobbies, family , friends, music, art, books, movies, faith or spirituality) is an important part of my approach in therapy.

The first session is where you get to know a little about me, some house rules regarding attendance, holidays, exceptions to confidentiality, safety protocols. Then I you'll tell me a little about what brings you to therapy at this time. I'll hear about your goals for therapy and what success or a signficant improvement looks like to you. We'll agree on a time a day to meet going forward and work towards your goals.
