Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Donnise, and I'm passionate about helping youth and young adults navigate life's challenges while creating a space where they feel safe, heard, and supported. I know reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating, so my goal is to make the process feel as comfortable and genuine as possible.

I'm not a "sit quietly and nod" kind of therapist. I believe in building real relationships with my clients, and many describe me as down-to-earth, conversational, and easy to talk to. I want therapy to feel like you're talking with someone who truly cares about your well-being while also helping you grow and challenge unhelpful patterns.

As a woman of faith, I'm happy to incorporate Christian values and spirituality into our work if that's important to you, but I also deeply respect every client's beliefs and background. I also believe healing doesn't always have to be heavy—sometimes laughter and a little humor can be just as therapeutic.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and practical. I don't believe therapy is about me giving you all the answers—it's about helping you better understand yourself, recognize your strengths, and develop tools that actually work in your everyday life.

I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, and mindfulness, while tailoring each session to your unique needs. Whether you're working through anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, self-esteem, or major life transitions, we'll work together at a pace that feels right for you.

You'll find that I'm honest, supportive, and willing to gently challenge you when it helps you grow, while always making sure you feel respected and understood.

What you can expect from me

Think of our first session as a conversation, not an interrogation. My priority is getting to know you—not just what brought you to therapy, but who you are as a person.

We'll talk about what's been going on, what you're hoping to get out of therapy, and any questions or concerns you have. There's no pressure to share everything right away. We'll go at your pace, and together we'll begin identifying goals and creating a plan that feels meaningful and realistic.

By the end of our first session, my hope is that you'll leave feeling heard, supported, and a little more hopeful than when you came in.
