Great to meet you!

  • Dorcia Wilson, NP Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
  • About Me Seeking mental health care can feel overwhelming, and finding a provider who listens and takes your concerns seriously is important. My goal is to provide a welcoming, respectful, and collaborative environment where you can speak openly about what you are experiencing and work toward meaningful improvement. I provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management for adults experiencing mental health concerns. I take time to understand your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, current stressors, treatment experiences, and personal goals. Rather than focusing only on a diagnosis, I believe treatment should consider the whole person and be individualized to your needs.

My approach to therapy

  1. My approach to care is warm, collaborative, and individualized. I believe you should feel heard, respected, and actively involved in decisions about your mental health. I take time to understand your symptoms, concerns, medical and psychiatric history, previous treatment experiences, and personal goals. Together, we develop a treatment plan that fits your needs and preferences. When medication is appropriate, I provide thoughtful medication management, education, and ongoing monitoring of your response and any side effects. My goal is to create a supportive, judgment-free environment while helping you achieve meaningful and lasting improvements in your mental health.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and understand what has been affecting your mental health. I will listen carefully to your concerns and ask about your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, current medications, previous treatments, daily life, and treatment goals. We will discuss what has worked for you in the past and what you would like to improve. At the end of the visit, we will review my recommendations and develop a treatment plan together. If medication is appropriate, we will discuss options, expected benefits, possible side effects, and follow-up.

My goal is for you to leave your first visit feeling heard, supported, and clear about your next steps.
