Great to meet you!

I am a LMFT. I am trained in family and couples relationship issues, and I also work with patients with depression, anxiety and PTSD. I founded and owned a facility for women in recovery from drugs and alcohol so I know how to help patients suffering from substance abuse disorder as well as their families who are impacted by addiction.

My biggest strength is in being able to help couples to strengthen their relationship and improve communication.

My approach to therapy

I believe that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is effective with most mood disorders. Treating the underlying thoughts which cause the symptoms produces long term success. For couples counseling I use Solution Focused Therapy. I provide counseling to help families navigate relationship and behavioral issues, while seeking to secure a long-term solution to mental and emotional disorders and a wide variety of relationship issues.

What you can expect from me

My years of work in the substance abuse field has taught her the many complications of addiction. During the first session, I will work with individuals to determine a clear statement of goals to be accomplished in therapy. During that first session we will work on the goals to be accomplished during each week. Sometimes that involves simple homework exercises designed to make behavioral changes to decrease depression and anxiety and improve couple relationships.
