Dorothy Costakis

I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker and Chemical Dependency Counselor with over 10 years of experience. I believe that asking for help can be the hardest thing to do and I strive to support and provide a safe place to work on the challenges we struggle with in coping with life. I have experience in a variety of settings, from inpatient hospitals to outpatient clinics and I enjoy working with adults of all ages with challenges ranging from trauma to anxiety, to addictions to gambling.

My approach to therapy is to build a safe, non-judgmental, compassionate, and warm environment to build a collaborative relationship and start the healing process. I have worked with many different concerns and my particular specialties are childhood trauma and abuse, sexual trauma, substance use disorders, and behavioral addictions.

My goal is the build a safe and compassionate environment to build motivation and help find solutions for making the changes in your life that you want to make. I build goals collaboratively with you starting from day one.
