Dorothy Washington

As a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, my 18 plus experience is in the field of mental health. I started as a registered nurse working in the mental health and addiction services for the state of Connecticut. I have obtained a master's degree, doctorate degree in nursing, and a post-graduate certificate as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I specialize in depression, anxiety, and many other mental health diagnoses.

Working with patients my main priority is to listen to the patient concerns and ensure they are a partner in their plan of care. As a mental health professional, I'm a strong believer in patient centered care, the patient and the provider are partners together in the plan of care.

My goals and outcomes for all my patients is to walk away from each session knowing and feeling that their concerns were taken seriously. Patients will feel they had a choice and participation in accomplishing each positive outcome of their treatment in a nonjudgemental and caring environment.
