Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Dorrett McDonald-Lovell, PMHNP-BC — and I’m here to support your mental wellness.

I’m a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner licensed in Florida, New York, Colorado, Oregon, and New Mexico, with over 20 years of experience in healthcare. My passion is helping individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered in their mental health journey.

I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, thoughtful medication management, and supportive therapy for conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and other mood or attention-related concerns.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and judgment-free. I believe healing starts with feeling safe and respected. Together, we’ll create a personalized, evidence-based plan designed to help you regain balance, build resilience, and move toward the life you deserve.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a welcoming, judgment-free space where we focus on getting to know you. We’ll discuss your current concerns, symptoms, personal history, and what you hope to achieve through treatment.

I will complete a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, which may include reviewing past mental health treatment, medical history, medications, lifestyle factors, and any stressors affecting your well-being. This helps ensure we create a thoughtful, individualized plan.

By the end of the session, we’ll discuss initial impressions and next steps, which may include therapy recommendations, medication options (if appropriate), and clear treatment goals. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and confident about the path forward.
