Great to meet you!

Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Before becoming a PMHNP in the United States, I practiced as a physician in Cuba, an experience that provided me with a strong medical foundation and a deep appreciation for compassionate, patient-centered care.

I am dedicated to providing evidence-based, culturally sensitive mental health care in a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment. I believe that building a trusting therapeutic relationship is essential to helping clients achieve meaningful and lasting improvements in their mental health.

My approach is collaborative and individualized. I work closely with each client to understand their unique experiences, concerns, and treatment goals. Together, we develop a personalized plan that may include psychiatric evaluation, medication management, supportive therapy, psychoeducation, and healthy lifestyle strategies.

I have experience treating adolescents and adults with a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, panic disorder, insomnia, and other mood and trauma-related conditions.

Whether you are seeking support for the first time or continuing your mental health journey, my goal is to help you feel heard, understood, and empowered. I am committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care and look forward to partnering with you as you work toward improved emotional well-being and a healthier, more fulfilling life.

My approach to therapy

Before becoming a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in the United States, I practiced as a physician in Cuba. This experience provided me with a strong medical foundation and a holistic understanding of patient care, allowing me to consider both physical and mental health when developing treatment plans.

I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, psychoeducation, and supportive therapy. I tailor each treatment plan to the individual's unique needs, preferences, culture, and life circumstances, recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health care.

I treat adolescents and adults experiencing conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, panic disorder, insomnia, and other mood and trauma-related disorders. I emphasize open communication, patient education, and shared decision-making so that clients feel informed and confident throughout their treatment journey.

My goal is not only to help reduce symptoms but also to empower clients with the knowledge, coping skills, and support they need to achieve long-term emotional wellness and an improved quality of life.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, my priority is to get to know you and understand what brings you to treatment. I strive to create a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns at your own pace.

We will discuss your current symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, lifestyle, previous treatments, and the goals you hope to achieve through care. I also take time to understand your strengths, support system, and any factors that may be affecting your mental health and overall well-being.

By the end of the appointment, you can expect to have a better understanding of your diagnosis, treatment options, and a personalized plan tailored to your needs. If medication is appropriate, we will review the benefits, potential side effects, and answer any questions you may have before making decisions together. My goal is to ensure you feel heard, respected, informed, and actively involved in your care from the very beginning.

I believe that healing begins with a strong therapeutic relationship, and I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward improved mental health and a better quality of life.
