Great to meet you!

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I want to acknowledge your courage for beginning this journey. I've worked in the mental health field for over 20 years and specialize in working with individuals navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, and life transitions, using a collaborative and client-centered approach to tailor sessions to your unique needs. I welcome you to reach out when you feel ready to begin, and I'm here to provide a safe and supportive environment for you to heal and grow".

My approach to therapy

I tend to utilize a conversational style of psychotherapy to help build rapport and trust between us. I believe this is the foundation of the therapeutic relationship to help process vulnerabilities within our life as a means to heal and grow. My counseling framework tends to encompass modalities from: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered, Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Holistic, and Existential.

What you can expect from me

My number one goal is provide a safe and welcoming environment. There is so much stigma and judgment surrounding mental health and I want people to feel heard and be seen. I meet people where they are in their journey, whether that is becoming more aware of behaviors and situations, or in the process of creating change. I tend to offer more holistic viewpoints because we are a system where everything is connected from our bodies to the environment in which we reside. Much of the work in therapy is completed outside of the therapy session as we navigate our everyday lives. We bring events, situations, and our outlook into the counseling sessions to reflect, process, create plans of action with increased awareness to help improve our decision-making practices. Every person's story is different, so the type of relationship we will have, will also differ. The one constant with the work I provide is empathy and care. I love the field of mental health and helping people. I will help you to become more aware, identify problem areas, and explore possible solutions with you and we will navigate the outcomes together.
