Great to meet you!

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with nearly 50 years of experience helping individuals, couples, families, churches, and organizations find help, healing, and hope. Dually trained in both clinical psychology and theology, I bring an integrated perspective to mental health care that honors the whole person. I earned my Psy.D. and M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University and have served in a variety of professional roles, including Director of Counseling Services at Focus on the Family and Vice President of the American Association of Christian Counselors. I have authored or co-authored ten books on marriage, mental health, recovery, and relational health, and have been in professional practice since 1977.

My approach to therapy

My approach is integrative, blending evidence-based clinical psychology with biblical principles to provide whole-person care. I work with couples navigating conflict and communication challenges, individuals facing anxiety, grief, or life transitions, and families in need of healing and guidance. I draw on decades of experience in private practice and church-based counseling to tailor each session to the unique needs and values of the person in front of me. My goal is to offer practical wisdom alongside genuine compassion.

What you can expect from me

In our sessions, you can expect a welcoming and confidential space where you feel truly heard and respected. I take a direct yet caring approach and am deeply committed to meeting you where you are, whatever you are facing in your relationships, your faith, or your personal life. I look forward to seeing if we are a good fit.
