Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Dr. Patricia Chan, PsyD, LCSW, and Nutritional Health Coach, and I bring over two decades of experience in mental health, wellness, and integrative care. I earned my Doctorate in Psychology with High Honors from California Southern University, and hold a Master’s in Social Work from USC. I also teach post graduate level courses and train others to be counselors and therapists. I have a background in nutrition from the American school of Intergrated Medicine. As the Founder of LiveWell Therapy, Inc. and LiveWell Nature, Inc., I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, addiction, and co-occurring disorders using a evidence-based approach that bridges psychological and physical wellness. My background also includes expert forensic psychology assessments, counseling, business coaching, nutritional coaching, clinical supervision, court-mandated evaluations, crisis intervention, and working with diverse populations across all age groups. I’m also a certified telehealth provider and have extensive training in trauma- focused CBT, anxiety, addiction medicine, and mindfulness. Whether through individual, couples, or family therapy, my goal is to support healing by addressing the mind-body and nutritional connection and helping clients achieve a balanced sustainable wellness.

My approach to therapy

In my work with clients, I take a compassionate, collaborative, and integrative approach—blending evidence-based practices with holistic methods to support the whole person, not just the symptoms. My therapeutic style is warm, direct, and client-centered, tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. I draw from a range of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, behavioral modifications, relationship, mindfulness-based techniques, and addiction-focused interventions using the ASAM Criteria. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, co-occurring disorders, and addiction, while also addressing underlying physical and nutritional factors that may impact mental health. With certification as a Nutritional Health Coach, I often incorporate education around the mind-body connection to promote long-term healing. Whether working with individuals, couples, or families, I create a safe and supportive space where clients feel empowered to explore, heal, and grow at their own pace or together as a couple or group.

What you can expect from me

In my practice, I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental, and culturally sensitive environment where clients feel safe, seen, and empowered. My goal is to help each individual, couple, and family build resilience, gain clarity, and develop practical tools for lasting change. Whether addressing anxiety, trauma, addiction, or relationship challenges, I work collaboratively with clients to set personalized, achievable goals focused on emotional stability, improved coping skills, healthy boundaries, and overall mind-body wellness. I integrate evidence-based therapies like CBT and Trauma-Focused CBT with mindfulness, psychoeducation, and—when appropriate—nutritional guidance to support holistic healing. My approach emphasizes both short-term relief and long-term growth, helping clients not only manage symptoms but also reconnect with a stronger, healthier sense of self.
