Great to meet you!

We all carry emotional burdens—some deep and lasting—that shape how we experience ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. Sometimes our pain feels unseen, our emotions misunderstood, or our hearts weary from carrying more than we were meant to bear. I believe healing begins with the courage to look within, understand our experiences, and, when desired, invite God into the healing process.

I am Dr. Sandry Z. Esquivel, Psy.D., LMFT, a bilingual, bicultural therapist and Mexican immigrant. My personal and professional experiences have deepened my appreciation for the ways culture, family, faith, identity, relationships, and life experiences shape our emotional well-being. I strive to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel welcomed, respected, understood, and free to be authentic.

My approach to therapy

My approach is holistic, compassionate, collaborative, and culturally responsive. I believe therapy should address the whole person—not simply a diagnosis or a particular symptom. Together, we explore the connection between your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, life experiences, values, culture, and spirituality. I draw from evidence-based approaches to help you develop insight, build healthier patterns, strengthen emotional resilience, and create meaningful change.

As a Christian therapist, I welcome clients who desire to integrate their faith into the therapeutic process. When faith is important to you, we can explore how your relationship with God, spiritual beliefs, prayer, Scripture, and your sense of purpose can become sources of strength and healing. I approach this work with humility and respect for each person's beliefs and spiritual journey. My goal is not to impose my beliefs, but to create space for you to explore the role that faith and spirituality may have in your healing.

What you can expect from me

My therapeutic style is warm, genuine, supportive, and nonjudgmental, while also being intentional and honest. I will walk alongside you while helping you explore the beliefs, experiences, relationship patterns, and emotional wounds that may be keeping you stuck. I believe meaningful therapy involves both compassion and accountability—creating a safe space to understand where you have been while also helping you move toward where you want to go.

I work with individuals and couples experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, trauma, life transitions, emotional struggles, substance use, and relational concerns. I also have experience working with individuals navigating complex and difficult circumstances. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where understanding replaces confusion, self-compassion replaces shame, peace begins to take root, and hope is restored.

You do not have to carry everything alone. If you are ready to take the next step toward healing and growth, I would be honored to walk alongside you. Together, we can explore your inner world, draw upon your strengths and values, and, if it is meaningful to you, seek God's wisdom as you move toward greater healing, wholeness, and restoration.
