Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Duwanna - a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals, families, and communities across Louisiana. I’ve worked in behavioral health, child welfare, education, and public-sector settings, and these roles shape the way I show up today: grounded, compassionate, and deeply aware of the real-world challenges people face.

I help you slow down, understand what’s beneath your stress, and build tools you can actually use in daily life. Drawing from evidence-based, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approaches, I tailor our work to your goals and pace. If you’re looking for a therapist who brings both heart and expertise and offers steady, present support, I’d be honored to work with you.

My approach to therapy

I create a space where you can slow down, feel heard, and talk openly about what’s really going on, while we build tools you can use in everyday life. I draw from evidence-based, trauma-informed, and strengths-based practices, tailoring our work to your goals, your pace, and what feels most meaningful to you.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, supported, and understood. We’ll take time to talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’ve been carrying, and what you hope will feel different moving forward. I’ll ask thoughtful, gentle questions to help us get a clear picture of your needs, your strengths, and the patterns that may be showing up in your life.

You can expect a calm, steady environment where you don’t have to have everything figured out. I’m here to be fully present with you, to listen with intention, and to help you make sense of what you’re experiencing at a pace that feels right. We’ll explore your goals together and begin identifying practical steps or tools that can support you between sessions.

By the end of our first session, you’ll have a better sense of how we can work together, what our sessions might look like, and how therapy can support you in feeling more grounded, confident, and in control of your life.
