Great to meet you!

Hi! My name is Dr. Dwayne White, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. I am also a Nationally Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I completed a Ph.D. in Counselor Education at Auburn University and an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Columbus State University. I have over seven years of clinical experience, including working in various settings (inpatient, outpatient, community-based, group home, and in-home) with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

My approach to therapy

Life is like a roller coaster; there are ups, downs, and unexpected turns. I see myself as a passenger sitting next to you on this rollercoaster of life, working with you on how to ride this roller coaster in whatever way best fits your individual needs and concerns. I utilize an integrative (narrative, existential, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy) intercultural approach to counseling to facilitate a therapeutic environment that is uniquely tailored to your needs.

What you can expect from me

My approach to counseling is flexible, laidback, and co-created – meaning this process is collaborative. I don’t believe people are broken or need to be fixed. I think that you already have the tools inside of you, and through facilitating a therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, respect, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard, you can access those tools to live the life you see fit.
