Great to meet you!

Greetings! I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who believes that people deserve mental health care that is compassionate, respectful, and individualized. My goal is to create a space where you can speak openly about what you are experiencing without feeling rushed, judged, or reduced to a diagnosis.

I work with adults experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD and attention difficulties, mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, psychosis, and substance-use concerns. My background includes outpatient psychiatry, inpatient mental health, psychiatric emergency care, and substance-use treatment, which allows me to support both everyday mental health concerns and more complex psychiatric needs.

My approach is collaborative. I want you to understand what may be contributing to your symptoms, what treatment options are available, and why a particular plan may be recommended. When medication is appropriate, we will discuss benefits, potential side effects, alternatives, and your personal preferences so that you can make informed decisions about your care.

I also believe treatment should focus on more than symptoms alone. We will look at how your mental health is affecting your sleep, relationships, work, daily functioning, and overall quality of life. My goal is to help you move toward greater stability, clarity, confidence, and improved functioning.

Whether you are seeking help for the first time, looking for diagnostic clarity, or searching for a new provider to continue your care, I want you to feel heard, respected, and actively involved in your treatment.

I provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, supportive psychotherapy, and ongoing treatment planning, and I am licensed to practice in both New Jersey and New York.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, patient-centered, and evidence-based. I begin by taking time to understand your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, current stressors, strengths, and personal goals so we can develop a treatment plan that fits your individual needs.

When medication is appropriate, I believe in discussing the benefits, potential side effects, alternatives, and expected outcomes so you can make informed decisions about your care. I also incorporate supportive psychotherapy, education, lifestyle considerations, risk assessment, and ongoing monitoring into treatment rather than focusing on medication alone.

I want our visits to feel like a partnership. We will regularly review what is improving, what is still difficult, and whether adjustments are needed. When appropriate, I also coordinate with therapists, primary care providers, specialists, and other members of your treatment team to support safe, consistent, and well-rounded care.

My goal is to help you feel heard, informed, and actively involved in your treatment while working toward greater stability, improved functioning, and a better quality of life.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect the first session to feel thorough, collaborative, and judgment-free. I will take time to understand what brought you in, what you have been experiencing, how symptoms are affecting your daily life, and what you hope to improve.

We will review your psychiatric and medical history, current and past medications, sleep, mood, anxiety, attention, substance use when relevant, important life stressors, and any previous treatment experiences. I may also ask about safety concerns and other factors that help me understand the full clinical picture.

My goal is not to rush to a diagnosis or medication decision. I want to understand you as a whole person and make sure your questions and concerns are heard. By the end of the visit, we will discuss my clinical impressions, possible treatment options, and the next steps that make the most sense for your needs and goals.

If medication is appropriate, I will explain why it is being considered, what benefits we hope to see, possible side effects, and what we will monitor together. You should leave the first session with a clearer understanding of what may be contributing to your symptoms and a treatment plan you feel comfortable participating in.

You do not need to come to the first visit with everything figured out. We can start with your story and build the plan together.
