Great to meet you!

Nice to meet you! I’m Ebenezer, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. My path to becoming a therapist began with a background in psychology and biology, followed by graduate training in clinical mental health counseling. Over the years, I’ve worked with children, teens, adults, and families, and those experiences have shaped the therapist I am today.

I’ve learned that people rarely fit neatly into a diagnosis or textbook description. Everyone brings their own history, relationships, culture, personality, and way of seeing the world into the room. That’s why I try to understand the person first, rather than simply treating a list of symptoms.

My style is warm, conversational, and collaborative. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can speak honestly, laugh when something is funny, work through difficult things when they come up, and never feel like you have to perform or say the “right” thing. My job is to meet you where you are and help you figure out where you want to go from there.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and straightforward. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, and other evidence-based approaches based on each client’s individual needs. I help clients better understand patterns in their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and behaviors while developing practical strategies they can use outside of therapy. I believe therapy works best when clients feel comfortable being themselves, so I strive to create a supportive environment where we can be open, curious, and work toward meaningful change together.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity to get to know each other and understand what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about what you’ve been experiencing, what you would like to change, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I’ll ask questions about your background and current concerns while giving you plenty of space to share at your own pace. Together, we’ll begin identifying goals and developing a plan that feels realistic and useful to you.
