Great to meet you!

My name is Ebony Stewart, and I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I work with adolescents, adults, and seniors, and I specialize in trauma-informed care — supporting individuals who are carrying the weight of difficult, painful, or overwhelming experiences and are ready to begin healing.

My primary clinical focus is trauma and PTSD, alongside anxiety and stress. I also work with clients experiencing depression and panic disorders. My practice is built around a deep understanding of how trauma shapes the mind and body — and a genuine commitment to the evidence-based approaches that help people move forward.

I believe that healing from trauma is not only possible — it is something every person deserves the opportunity to pursue. If you've been waiting for the right support, I am here.

My approach to therapy

Trauma is at the center of my practice, and my approach reflects that — both in the depth of my clinical training and in the care I bring to every session.

I use Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Trauma Focused CBT as my primary treatment modalities for trauma and PTSD. These are two of the most rigorously researched, evidence-based approaches available for trauma treatment — and while they share a cognitive-behavioral foundation, they offer distinct pathways that I draw on depending on each person's needs and presentation. CPT focuses on examining and reframing the beliefs that trauma leaves behind — about safety, trust, self-worth, and control. Trauma Focused CBT provides a structured framework for processing traumatic memories and rebuilding a sense of safety and stability. Having fluency in both allows me to offer truly personalized trauma care.

I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) more broadly for anxiety, depression, panic, and stress — and Motivational Interviewing to meet clients where they are, especially when they feel uncertain, ambivalent, or unsure of where to begin. Both complement the trauma work by building readiness, insight, and practical coping tools.

Throughout everything, I bring a trauma-informed lens — understanding that how I show up in the room matters as much as the techniques I use.

What you can expect from me

For many people who have experienced trauma, reaching out for help is one of the hardest steps. I want you to know: that step matters, and I take it seriously.

In our first session, I will move at your pace. I'll ask about what's brought you in, what you've been experiencing, and what you're hoping to find through our work together — but I won't push you to revisit difficult experiences before you're ready. Safety comes first.

I'll gather some background — mental health history, current symptoms, what your daily life looks and feels like — and I'll begin to get a sense of which approach might fit best for you. By the end of our first meeting, we'll have a clearer shared picture and a beginning plan.

If medication is part of the conversation, we'll discuss it openly and collaboratively. Every decision we make together will be one you understand and agree to.

Whatever you've been through, you don't have to carry it alone — and you don't have to figure out the path forward by yourself. That's what I'm here for.
