Great to meet you!

Are anxiety, depression, ADHD, or mood disorders making daily life harder than it needs to be? I'm Edith Anyanwu, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner in New Jersey. I bring 16 years of psychiatric nursing experience to my work — and the clinical depth that comes with it.

I specialize in psychiatric evaluations and medication management for adults. I hold a DEA license and am board certified, which means I can prescribe and carefully manage a full range of psychiatric medications — from antidepressants and mood stabilizers to ADHD medications and sleep aids. I see patients entirely over secure video, so you can meet from wherever you're most comfortable.

I accept many major insurance plans through Headway — your sessions are billed directly to your insurance, no surprise costs, no paperwork on your end. I am currently accepting new patients.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative and practical. I take time to understand your full picture — not just your symptoms, but your life, your goals, and what hasn't worked before. Sixteen years of psychiatric nursing taught me that the right treatment takes patience, clear communication, and real flexibility.

I use evidence-based, proven methods to guide my prescribing decisions. I'll explain every step in plain language, tell you what to expect, and check in regularly to adjust your plan as your needs evolve.

Clients describe me as experienced, direct, and genuinely easy to talk to — someone who brings deep clinical knowledge without the jargon.

What you can expect from me

Your first visit is a full psychiatric evaluation — typically 45 to 60 minutes. We'll talk through your symptoms, mental health history, any medications you've tried, and your current goals. I'll ask thorough questions, and everything you share stays confidential.

By the end, you'll have a clear understanding of my initial impressions and a concrete plan — whether that means starting a new medication, adjusting something you're already taking, or scheduling a follow-up to review options together.

I see patients entirely over secure video. All you need is a quiet space and a phone or computer. I'm currently accepting new patients — reaching out is the first step.
