Great to meet you!

My name is Edmondson Chukwuezi, a Master’s-level clinician specializing in substance use disorders and mental health counseling. With a Master’s degree in Addiction Studies and advanced training in addiction treatment, I provide compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals facing substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges.

I utilize approaches such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and relapse prevention strategies to help clients build healthy coping skills, strengthen resilience, and achieve lasting recovery. I have extensive experience conducting assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, facilitating individual and group therapy, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care.

My approach to therapy

As a therapist, I believe honest communication is essential to our work. It is important to me that you feel heard, respected, and valued throughout the process. I will listen with empathy, provide constructive feedback when needed, and gently challenge patterns that may be limiting your progress. At the same time, I will actively support the development of your self-efficacy—helping you build confidence in your ability to make healthy decisions, manage difficult emotions, and take meaningful steps toward lasting change. You will not walk the path alone; I will support and guide you while empowering you to recognize your own capacity for resilience and recovery.

What you can expect from me

When my clients attend their first therapy session, it is completely normal to feel a mix of curiosity, hope, and even nervousness. My initial session is designed to create safety, build trust, and begin understanding my client's needs and priorities in a supportive and structured and reassuring their Privacy and confidentiality with an explanation of its limits, starting by creating a calm and welcoming environment.
