Great to meet you!

I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in Illinois and a PsyPACT member. I worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs for 8 years, helping veterans facing a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, moral injury, cognitive impairment, TBI, personality disorders, adjustment difficulties, relationship issues, family issues, and end-of-life transitions. Many of the people I work with are carrying more than one challenge at once, and when anxiety, depression, trauma, or PTSD begin overlapping with medical issues, grief, conflict, or major life changes, it can feel exhausting and hard to know where to start. My goal is to provide thoughtful, individualized care that helps you make sense of what you are facing and move toward meaningful relief.

My approach to therapy

I draw primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while also using Solution-Focused Therapy, Identity Theory, Reminiscence-Based Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy when helpful. My approach is personalized, practical, and client-centered because I believe therapy should fit the person, not the other way around. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, stress management concerns, relationship issues, family issues, and adjustment difficulties, and I tailor treatment based on your needs, life experiences, and goals. Together, we look at the patterns, thoughts, emotions, and circumstances contributing to distress so that therapy can support clearer thinking, stronger coping skills, and real progress.

What you can expect from me

You may be wondering why new perspectives matter when life has already knocked you down. In our first session, we will begin exploring what has brought you to therapy, whether that includes anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, relationship issues, family issues, stress management, grief, or a difficult life transition. We will talk about what feels most pressing, what has or has not helped before, and what kind of change you want to see. While we cannot always control what has happened to us, therapy can help us better understand our responses, strengthen our ability to cope, and build a path forward. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling understood, respected, and more hopeful about what comes next.
