Great to meet you!

I'm so glad you're here. Over the past six years, I've spent much of my work walking alongside people who've lived through trauma. Adolescence, in particular, is hard enough on its own; when you add the weight of something painful or overwhelming on top of it, it can feel like too much to carry alone. I don't think it has to be. I've seen again and again how much can shift when a young person (or an adult who's been carrying something for a long time) finally has a space where they feel safe, believed, and genuinely understood.

My clients tend to describe me as easy to talk to and pretty down-to-earth. I won't sit across from you in silence waiting for you to figure it all out. I'll be present, honest, and human with you. Whether you're navigating PTSD, anxiety, depression, big life transitions, questions about your identity, or the everyday stress that's piling up, you don't have to have it all sorted out before you reach out. That's what we do together.

I'm also proud to be an affirming space for LGBTQ+ clients, including folks exploring their sexuality, gender identity, or transgender experience. You deserve care that meets you as your whole self.

My approach to therapy

I believe good therapy is a partnership, not a lecture. You're the expert on your own life; my job is to bring tools, perspective, and steady support so we can make sense of things together and move you toward what you actually want.

Because so much of my work centers on trauma, I draw heavily on evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Trauma-Focused CBT. These methods are designed to help you process painful experiences at a pace that feels manageable, without becoming re-overwhelmed. From there, I pull from whatever fits you best: CBT to untangle the thoughts that keep you stuck, mindfulness-based work to help you feel more grounded, motivational interviewing when you're weighing a change, and strengths-based and positive psychology approaches because I want us to build on what's already working in you, not just fix what's broken. With teens and families, I also lean on collaborative, practical strategies that get everyone rowing in the same direction.

Above all, I'll meet you where you are. If a certain approach isn't landing, we'll talk about it and adjust. This is your therapy, and it should feel like it.

What you can expect from me

The first session is really just a chance for us to get to know each other. There's no pressure to dive into the deep end before you're ready. I'll ask some questions about what brought you in, what's been weighing on you, and what you're hoping to get out of our time together. You're welcome to share as much or as little as feels comfortable that day.

You can also ask me anything: how I work, what to expect, whether I'm the right fit for you. I'd rather you feel confident about that from the start. By the end, my goal is that you leave feeling a little more understood than when you walked in, with a sense of where we might go from here. If we decide to keep working together, we'll build a plan that fits your goals and your pace.

Taking this first step takes courage, and I don't take it lightly that you're considering it. Whenever you're ready, I'm here
