Great to meet you!

Asking for help can be intimidating and I strive to make therapy a comfortable, supportive and rewarding experience. I am passionate about helping people tell their story and to grow stronger by feeling understood.

Anxiety, depression, life transitions, and caregiver stress can leave you feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from yourself. I have a special interest in supporting caregivers experiencing burnout and compassion fatigue, particularly family members caring for autistic adults, adults with disabilities, or aging parents. Together, we can work toward greater balance, resilience and well-being.

Helping parents advocate for their children who have learning disabilities and autism is a passion. I am a parent of two daughters, one who has autism. I totally understand the pressures parents face. I have helped many parents in my many years as a school counselor to understand and support children with learning differences and autism. I am very proud that my adult daughter with autism is living independently, but I know first hand how time consuming it can be advocating for an adult with autism, whether it be navigating bureaucracies, finding the best providers or providing personal assistance and emotional support to a child. I would love to help you with these challenges.

I also enjoy working with women navigating midlife and post-menopausal transitions. Changes in health, relationships, residence, identity, family roles and retirement can bring unexpected emotional challenges. Therapy can provide support, perspective and practical tools for this stage of life.

My approach to therapy

Making change can feel overwhelming, but we will move at a pace that feels right for you. I view each client as a unique individual and work collaboratively to create a safe, supportive place. My approach in therapy incorporates Person Centered, Cognitive Behavioral and Solution Focused Therapies and Motivational Interviewing.

What you can expect from me

During our first few sessions I want to hear your story and help identify and prioritize your goals for our work together. I understand how big a step it is to start therapy and I want to make it easy for you. I hope to establish a warm and friendly environment for us to make our time together positive and productive.. You don't have to be bogged down by the past, but you can learn from it so that you can have a happier and healthier present. Your dreams and goals are important, and I want to help you work towards the life you want and deserve.
