Great to meet you!

I integrate many different approaches, tailor-fitting my style to each client. I have studied trauma and its treatment from several different perspectives, including Bessel van der Kolk’s Trauma Center, EMDR, and crisis and acute trauma intervention.

I lead a trauma team in the South Florida area, in which I provide crisis intervention and supervise a team of 35 interventionists.

I am currently doing research on the therapeutic use of memory reconsolidation (the neuroscience of change).

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is first and foremost, client-centered. I deeply believe in the need to connect with my clients and be present with the current pain for which they are coming to therapy. I am trained in the Coherence Therapy and EMDR therapy. I use those models to help my clients resolve traumatic memories and create change at a deep level. My training also includes a model of crisis intervention provided by Dr. David Fox, under whom I have been mentoring and training.

What you can expect from me

I believe that all therapy can be broken down into two major categories - tools to cope with problematic symptoms (e.g., anxiety, depression, trauma), and processes that work to create shifts at a deep level; removing the root of the symptom.

My goal is to offer both as I join your journey through the pain of life’s struggles, providing warmth, empathy, tools, and guidance. Together we will learn to transcend the wounds that are currently holding you from living your life with vitality.
