Great to meet you!

Oddly enough, by the time I was eight years old when someone would ask, I was able to answer these questions: what I wanted to do “when I grew up”, where I was going to get my education, and what I was going to do with my education and experiences later in life. It’s not typical to have one’s life accurately planned so far in advance, to know that you want to help people, but I did just that. In my 30-year career, I have focused on treating clients dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, issues with interpersonal relationships, etc., regardless of age, gender, socioeconomic status, race, or any other characteristics. I fully believe that my education and personal experiences shaped me into the effective therapist that I am.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy includes a first (MUST) step: developing trust. Once trust is established, I only use evidence-based therapies. Those modalities include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reality-based Therapy/Choice Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Solution-Based Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Client-Centered Therapy, among others. The type of therapy used is based on each individual and their needs. All forms of therapy are delivered in a compassionate and non-judgmental manner.
