Great to meet you!

I am a licensed independent social worker (LISW) specializing in LGBTQIA+ identity work, life transitions/stressors, chronic illness and caregiving, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and grief and loss. I aim to create a therapeutic relationship that feels genuine and safe, letting you know that I am invested in you and your wellbeing. Sometimes therapy can feel heavy and hard, other times it can feel light and freeing. I feel that it is a privilege to walk alongside you through all of those moments. My work background includes serving clients in community based organizations, youth programs, and in the hospital setting.

My approach to therapy

Through a combination of processing, exploring patterns, and skill building, we will work together to address ongoing concerns as well as new or particularly challenging moments in your day to day life. My approach is gentle and grounding, offering a listening ear, compassionate feedback, laughter, and guidance that feels appropriate and applicable. I encourage cultivating hope for the future and greater trust in yourself, without dismissing the difficulties you are facing or have experienced in the past.

My goal is to develop a genuine connection with you so that you can feel confident that I will listen without judgement, help you identify where you’d like to go, and provide the supportive push and partnership you might need to get there. I support individuals in developing a more compassionate sense of self, leading to increased confidence and self-love. I work with families to improve communication, address conflict, and establish boundaries that allow family members to feel safe, respected, and cared for by one another.

What you can expect from me

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or unsure about where to start, that’s okay! I will create a warm and compassionate space to explore what you hope to gain through therapy and start to think through how to get there in a way that feels empowering and sustainable for you. Hearing in your own words what has brought you to therapy is an important part of this session for me. I will also ask some questions to get to know you better and make sure I am a good fit for your specific needs. This is a conversation, not an evaluation, and we will go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
