Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Eleni O'Brien and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. I have been practicing for over a decade and specialize in anxiety and OCD treatment.

I specialize in evidence-based treatments to help clients reduce avoidance, build resilience, and regain a sense of control in their lives. My goal is to support clients in learning how to tolerate distress, respond differently to intrusive thoughts, and navigate difficult emotions with greater confidence.

I strive to create a warm, supportive, and collaborative environment where clients feel understood, empowered, and challenged in ways that promote meaningful growth.

My approach to therapy

I’m best positioned to work with adults who feel stuck in cycles of anxiety, overthinking, avoidance, or self-criticism; especially those who are high-functioning on the outside but exhausted on the inside. Many of my clients are thoughtful, self-aware, and motivated for change, yet feel frustrated that insight alone hasn’t brought relief. Together we will create achievable goals through increased insight and understanding, and determine ways to create actionable change in your life.

The modalities I bring into therapy include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness based therapies. I believe in creating a foundational understanding of the presenting issue with thorough psychoeducation and resource sharing.

What you can expect from me

In our first session together, we’ll spend time understanding what’s brought you to therapy and how anxiety or other concerns are showing up in your life. We’ll explore what you’ve already tried, what’s felt most challenging, and what you’re hoping will be different. From there, we’ll work collaboratively to clarify your goals, and you’ll leave the session with a clearer sense of direction and next steps for our work together.
