Great to meet you!
Hi, my name is Eliana. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Florida International University (FIU) back in 2008. After graduation, I worked in various clinical research projects at the University of Miami (UM) Miller School of Medicine for several years after which I returned to graduate school to pursue a Master's Degree in Clinician Mental Health Counseling at FIU. Since late 2020, I have been providing psychotherapy in various settings such as
community mental health, intensive outpatient treatment, and private practice to individual clients and couples facing a wide range of mental health and relational challenges. I am originally from Venezuela and Colombia and came to the United States in my late teens; I have lived in Miami for almost three decades. I offer therapy sessions in Spanish and English.
Life is inherently complex and as social beings, struggling with our mental health and relationships can feel deeply isolating and shameful. Being in psychotherapy will offer you the opportunity to better understand yourself and your life history and normalize your experiences. The journey of therapy will also help you understand that you do not have to figure out "the stuff" of life all on your own.
