Great to meet you!

I have a graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have had the pleasure of working in mental health for the last 13 years. I have a passion for helping individuals work towards a deeper understanding of themselves while working towards greater self-acceptance and empowerment. I specialize in working with those who have experienced trauma, grief/loss, mood and anxiety difficulties, as well as those who simply want to explore how they can feel happier and improve their self-esteem. I want all clients to have the experience of being able to be authentic in a safe, judgement-free zone!

My approach to therapy

I am a person-centered therapist: you are your own expert, but we all need guidance! I come from a warm, compassionate place to help clients feel at ease while also integrating evidence-based approaches (such as EMDR, IFS, and CBT) to help clients achieve relief from symptoms, approve their ability to cope, and understand their mental health. I move with my clients: if you would like homework, we will discuss what you can do in between sessions. If you hate journaling; no worries, we'll find what works for you!

What you can expect from me

The first session will always require some history taking: what is bringing you to therapy, your experiences with therapy in the past (good, bad, or otherwise), and how the problems you have been experiencing have been impacting you. We will discuss goals for our sessions and what this will look like; I like for every client to leave feeling like they have an idea of the direction we will be moving in and feeling confident in those goals.
