Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Elise and here is a little information about me. I received my Master's in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, and my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Michigan. Through my traineeship, I worked at a non-profit agency in North Marin, providing counseling services to North Marin's underserved population. Here I worked with clients of all ages (individuals and couples), as well as at a middle-school.

Now I have a private practice in Mill Valley.

My treatment areas tend to focus on anxiety, depression and relational issues. I work with adults, teens and pre-teens. Please note that I do not take insurance for my work with couples.

A little personal information about me is that I grew up in the south of England and moved to the US when I was thirteen. I have lived in the midwest, on the east coast, and now in northern California’s beautiful Bay Area. I am deeply grateful for my experiences as a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, an author, and a business owner - all of which inform my psychotherapy practice today.

My approach to therapy

I believe we all have rich, inner worlds and voices that want to be heard. When life experiences stifle these voices, we lose connection to the core of who we are. Through compassionate collaboration, my goal is to support clients in reconnecting to their essential selves. I provide trauma-informed care that honors the impact that past, painful events have on the present. While our brains are shaped by key events, we can rewire them. I tailor my approach to best serve my clients, using various modalities to support them such as Internal Family Systems, Eye-Movement Densitization and Reprocessing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Psychodynamics and Gestalt Therapy.

What you can expect from me

The feedback I have received from clients is that they leave their sessions with me with greater insight into their inner worlds, increased self-compassion, curiosity about their world view and effective coping tools for anxiety, depression and relational distress.
