You've done the hard thing. You made a decision to talk to someone and you're here.
If you are trying to understand the depression that won't go away, even on good days, or quiet the running dialogue in your head that doesn't ever stop, I can help.
I can help you manage the behaviors that you can't seem to walk away from, or teach your nervous system to relax so you don't have to feel like you're on hyper-alert all the time. If you need to talk openly about the things you've lost, or things you've seen, or just how much it hurts, I can walk with you through all of it.
I have experience in treating several mental health issues; substance use, military experience, trauma, depression, grief and spirituality as specialties. I offer help for suicidal ideation or suicide-centered issues (ideation, attempt or grief), and don't shy away from the real conversations.
I can also offer Christian counseling if requested. Spiritualty is a strength and often used in therapy, but I respect each person's decision to include their personal spirituality in our sessions, or not.
I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is very effective in improving quality of life by adjusting the way we 'see' things. Other approaches I might find beneficial for you are Seeking Safety, DBT, relapse prevention, and nervous system regulation.
I know it takes a lot to choose therapy, more so to pick a therapist. My first goal for us is to build trust, a sense of psychological safety which I value for you more than anything.
In our first session will focus on getting to know each other, and discuss what you want to get out of therapy. We might complete mental health assessments together to help us determine more about your needs as well.
