Your first session is a chance for us to get to know one another in a supportive, nonjudgmental space. My priority is to help you feel comfortable, respected, and heard from the very beginning. There is no pressure to share more than you’re ready to, and we will move at a pace that feels right for you. During our initial session, we’ll talk about what brings you to therapy and what you hope to gain from our work together. I’ll ask questions to better understand your experiences, current concerns, and strengths, while also taking time to answer any questions you may have about therapy or my approach. This session is collaborative. I may introduce elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, or somatic awareness as appropriate, but the focus is on building a strong therapeutic relationship and establishing a sense of safety and trust. If trauma or past experiences are part of your story, we will approach them gently and thoughtfully, with care not to overwhelm or rush the process.
By the end of the first session, we will begin identifying goals for therapy and discuss next steps, ensuring that our work feels aligned with your needs and priorities. My hope is that you leave feeling supported, understood, and with a clearer sense of how therapy can help you move forward.
