Specializes in

Anxiety and Relationship Issues

Great to meet you!

My approach is to meet you with empathy and to create a safe space for you to process emotions/big feels, thoughts, relationships, life change(s), significant events, areas of self-esteem, loss, and/or overwhelming symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and/or panic at a pace that works best for you or your child.

Changes whether expected or unexpected, can be difficult and leave us feeling confused, disappointed, anxious, and overwhelmed. I have experienced much change myself and although it often brings discomfort and fear of the unknown, change is inevitable. Change pulls us out of our comfort zone, and it allows us to learn and grow. If this is something that resonates with you, it would be an honor to support you with changes that have impacted your own life.

A bit about my approach to therapy

The hope of therapy includes supporting you to feel seen and heard in a judgement-free environment; to develop competency to identify and manage emotions, feelings, and thoughts; and to learn and obtain useful skills to cope and problem-solve as you continue your journey. If you notice that you have felt stuck in relationships or in day-to-day life, I would love to support you in gaining insight and understanding in those circumstances so that you can see and begin to experience your path forward. Each person has individual values, strengths, and resiliencies which will support the person to identify areas of desired change and goals and the ability to achieve those goals.

What you can expect from our first session

My professional background includes working with children, adults, and families for the past 22 years. This work has included supporting families to communicate better, to create spaces to process significant events and dynamics which may have been overwhelming and/or traumatic, to manage family conflict, and ultimately to bring healing in relationships. Also, I have loved working with adults in individual and/or group sessions to gain knowledge, tools, and practice to support their recovery and to find meaning and purpose in their lives.

I am grateful for my faith in God as God has been my source of strength and ever-present help in time of need. If you are open to incorporating faith-based counseling or if you are desiring to connect/reconnect to your faith, it would be a true joy and honor to do that in our work together.
