Great to meet you!

As Clinic Director of the Military Family Clinic, I bring 15 years of dedicated experience in mental health services, serving as both a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and clinical leader. My therapeutic approach integrates multiple evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused CBT, Gottman Method, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

My commitment to serving civilian and military families is enhanced by my comprehensive training in diverse therapeutic techniques, allowing me to both guide our clinical team and ensure high-quality care for our clients. As a supervisor, I focus on fostering a supportive environment that promotes healing and growth for both our staff and the families we serve.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is both comprehensive and individualized, drawing from several evidence-based modalities to meet each client's unique needs. I believe in creating a safe, collaborative space where healing and growth can occur naturally.

As a foundation, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This practical approach allows us to identify and modify patterns that may be holding you back while developing more effective coping strategies.

For clients dealing with trauma, I integrate EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Trauma-Focused CBT, which are powerful tools for processing difficult experiences and reducing their impact on daily life. These approaches help clients move beyond survival mode to truly thrive.

My training in the Gottman Method enables me to work effectively with couples, helping them build stronger relationships through improved communication, deeper emotional connection, and conflict management skills.

For clients struggling with emotional regulation or seeking more effective ways to handle stress, I incorporate elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). This approach helps develop mindfulness, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness skills.

What sets my approach apart is the ability to weave these different modalities together, creating a treatment plan that adapts to your progress and needs. Whether you're a military service member, a spouse, a family member, or a veteran, my goal is to provide you with both immediate coping strategies and long-term tools for lasting change.

What you can expect from our first session

In our sessions together, you can expect a supportive and collaborative environment where your experiences are heard and validated. Drawing from multiple therapeutic approaches, including CBT, EMDR, and DBT, I tailor our work to your specific needs and goals.

For many clients, our sessions provide practical tools for managing stress, processing difficult experiences, and improving relationships. Life comes with unique challenges, and my extensive experience with individuals and families allows me to offer specialized support that acknowledges these distinct experiences.

Whether you're dealing with trauma, relationship challenges, anxiety, or life transitions, each session aims to move you closer to your personal goals. You'll leave with concrete strategies you can apply in your daily life, deeper insights into your experiences, and a clearer path forward.

Most importantly, you'll find a safe, judgment-free space where you can be authentic and work through challenges at your own pace. My role is to guide and support you while helping you develop the skills and understanding needed for lasting positive change.
