Great to meet you!

Liz is originally from Madison, WI. She received a masters in Social Work from New York University before relocating to Chicago, where she worked for 3 years as a therapeutic case manager at a transitional living program that served female-identified adolescents experiencing homelessness and aging out of the foster care system. Liz relocated to Austin, TX in 2017 and last worked as a school-based therapist at Austin High School, serving students and teachers.

My approach to therapy

Liz utilizes a strengths-based approach with all clients and believes that clients are the expert in their own life. Liz has a supportive yet collaborative approach to treating issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship issues, transitions, and low self-esteem. Liz primarily draws from the therapy models of Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

What you can expect from me

Liz assists clients with setting short-term self-appointed goals between sessions that help them get closer to their overall treatment goals. Liz will often send clients book recommendations, podcasts, YouTube videos, and articles that further explain therapy concepts and skills relevant to the client's goals.
