Great to meet you!

I have been in private practice for 32 years. I have a Master's Degree from The University of Vermont. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is collaborative and that individual clients have unique and sometimes unrealized strengths. My philosophy is founded on tailoring treatment and/or coaching to the individual. In our work, I strongly encourage feedback from clients throughout therapy

My approach to therapy

My overarching philosophy is based on relational therapy. A good "fit" between client and therapist is imperative. I draw from psychodynamic, somatic and experiential theories knowing that each client has his/her best means of processing. I specialize in treating eating disorders, Complex PTSD, Depression and Anxiety Disorders. While these are the issues most clients bring to therapy, they are not exhaustive as I provide support with individuals, couples and families addressing life and relationship transition issues.

What you can expect from me

First sessions are characterized by a thorough assessment including family history, prior experiences with therapy, current challenges, existing strengths and therapeutic goals. That said, sometimes clients are uncertain about concrete goals so the initial sessions may be more exploratory. Also, as I am essentially a stranger during the first meeting, I am conscious and respectful of a client's right to pace disclosure of personal information
