Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Clinical Practice (LISW-CP) dedicated to helping individuals navigate trauma, grief, loss, and life transitions with compassion and evidence-based care. I earned my Master’s degree from Case Western Reserve University and my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rhode Island College. I have worked in the mental health and social services field since 2000, gaining experience across a variety of adult mental health settings. My professional background includes serving as a Director of Social Services in a skilled nursing facility, working as a hospice social worker, providing outpatient mental health case management, and practicing as a clinician. These diverse experiences have shaped my understanding of the many challenges individuals and families face throughout life and have strengthened my commitment to providing compassionate, individualized support.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and person-centered. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and motivational interviewing to help clients better understand their experiences, process difficult emotions, develop healthy coping strategies, and reconnect with their sense of strength and identity.

With a particular focus on trauma and grief, I strive to provide a safe, supportive, and empowering environment where clients can explore their stories, heal from painful experiences, and build resilience in mind, body, and spirit. I believe healing is a deeply personal process, and I work alongside each client to create meaningful and sustainable change.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, I will take the time to get to know you, your story, and what brings you to therapy. We will begin by reviewing background information, including your current concerns, personal and family history, previous experiences with therapy, and factors that may be impacting your emotional well-being. This information helps me better understand your experiences and provides a foundation for our work together.

We will also explore what you hope to gain from therapy and identify the areas you would like to focus on. Together, we will develop meaningful, realistic goals that reflect what is important to you. We will also identify and build upon your existing strengths, resources, and abilities, using these as important tools in your healing and growth.

I believe therapy should be a collaborative process, so your voice, experiences, strengths, and priorities will guide our work. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace.

You do not need to have everything figured out before your first session. Together, we will work to understand where you are, identify where you would like to be, recognize the strengths you already possess, and develop a path forward that feels manageable and meaningful to you.
