Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Elizabeth Middleton, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in Kentucky and the owner of Middleton Counseling and Wellness, LLC. I am passionate about helping children, adolescents, and adults navigate life's challenges in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, behavioral challenges, and family-related issues. I also enjoy working with children and families through play-based interventions and developmentally appropriate therapeutic approaches.

My goal is to create a space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. I believe that healing happens through connection, trust, and collaboration, and I am committed to helping each client build on their strengths while developing practical tools for lasting change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each client's unique needs. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing, so I work alongside clients to identify goals and develop strategies that fit their lives and values.

I utilize evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, trauma-informed care, play therapy techniques, mindfulness-based interventions, and strengths-based approaches. I help clients understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while building healthy coping skills, improving emotional regulation, increasing self-awareness, and fostering resilience.

Whether a client is working through anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, behavioral difficulties, or life transitions, I strive to provide practical tools and meaningful support that promote growth and long-term well-being.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a strong therapeutic relationship. Clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where they are encouraged to share their concerns at their own pace.

During the initial session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy, explore your current challenges, review relevant history, identify strengths, and begin developing goals for treatment. My focus is on understanding your unique experiences and creating a personalized plan that supports your needs and priorities.

Many clients leave their first session feeling relieved to have a safe space to talk openly and with a clearer understanding of the next steps toward healing, growth, and positive change. My goal is for every client to feel heard, respected, and hopeful about the journey ahead.
