Great to meet you!

I've been practicing clinical social work for 46 years — and teaching it for much of that time. That depth of experience shapes everything about how I work: I'm confident, direct, and genuinely excited by the process of helping people change.

My specialty is short-term, goal-oriented therapy. I believe that focused, intentional work — done well — can produce lasting results without requiring a years-long commitment. Sessions are active. There's homework. We practice things in the room and then use real life to reinforce them.

I work with children (age 6+), adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, PTSD, grief, maternal mental health, and relationship stress. If you're ready to do real work and see real movement, I'd be glad to hear from you.

My approach to therapy

My approach draws on CBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Family-Focused Therapy — chosen based on what fits you, not a fixed protocol.

With CBT, we examine the thought patterns and automatic responses driving your current challenges and build practical strategies to shift them. With IFS, we explore the different parts of yourself that may be in conflict — often the key to understanding why change feels hard even when you want it. For couples and families, I use structured, evidence-based methods that help people actually hear each other and move forward together.

Across all of it: therapy with me is active. Expect to leave sessions with something concrete to practice before we meet again.

What you can expect from me

After 46 years of learning and teaching clinical therapy, I know the importance of kindness, compassion, and creating a genuine climate of safety. Honestly, these qualities predated my formal training — they're part of who I am.

I've been privileged to work with many courageous clients over the decades, and they've taught me what a therapy session should feel like: a place of honesty, warmth, self-acceptance, and real hope for change.

In our first session, we'll talk about what brought you here, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping feels different. By the end, you'll have a clear sense of the direction we'd take together — and whether this feels like the right fit.
