Great to meet you!

I want therapy to be your safe space to be however you are, feel however you feel, and say whatever you need to say, without judgement. Once we bring compassion and validation to those experiences, we can begin to create a vision for change. I support you in setting goals, building skills and overcoming barriers to the life that you desire. I'm also a brain science nerd, so I can help you understand why you respond the way you do.

My approach to therapy

My approach involves all three aspects of life experience - mental, emotional and physical/behavioral. In our sessions, we don't just sit and talk about problems; we develop insight, reprocess troublesome thoughts and memories, learn ways to tone down emotional distress, and listen to the body's wisdom. (In therapist lingo, it's called mindfulness-based cognitive therapy with trauma-informed somatic awareness.)

What you can expect from me

My clients leave our sessions with new insights, strategies and clear intentions for the week(s) ahead. Counseling is most effective when clients take what they learn and implement new approaches in daily life. Clients often notice that the "real therapy" happens between sessions.
