Great to meet you!

This world pulls us in many directions and at times it can be challenging to find our footing. My name is Elizabeth Small, and I’m a licensed therapist with a Master's of Social Work from the University of Southern California. I understand firsthand how the demands of a high-pressure career can create an ongoing drive for perfection. The feeling that no matter how much you achieve, it’s never quite enough. That constant pressure can lead to exhaustion and a loss of your true self, something I know because I've been there. I'm here to help you learn how to build a relationship with yourself so you can change this for the better.

My approach to therapy

My approach is rooted in warmth, mutual respect, and genuine connection. I aim to create a space where you feel safe to be yourself—where you can explore what’s going on beneath the surface, reflect on your glimmers and shadows, and grow at your own pace. At times, that might mean offering a gentle challenge or holding space for discomfort—but always with compassion and curiosity. I utilize the following modalities: psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Somatic-Based, and Mindfulness.

What you can expect from me

You are made up of far more than your challenges, diagnosis, and or emotions. Though those are important parts of your experience, I’m here to discover your whole self. You are at the center of your orbit and that’s where we will begin. With a holistic lens, integrating elements from various modalities to fit your unique goals and needs, we will find the road together.

I'm trained in EMDR and specialize in working with adults navigating anxiety, perfectionism, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, complex relationship dynamics, high-pressure and creative careers.
