Great to meet you!

Welcome, and thank you for visiting my page.

My name is Liz Torres, LPC, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience supporting individuals through life's challenges, crises, and periods of transition. As a Licensed Crisis Clinician, I have worked closely with adolescents, adults, and families facing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and mental health concerns.

My professional background includes crisis intervention, mental health assessment, treatment planning, and providing compassionate, person-centered care to individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, and other life challenges. I am committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes.

I believe that every person has unique strengths and a capacity for growth. My approach to therapy is collaborative and tailored to each client's individual needs, goals, and experiences. I utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques while focusing on building a strong therapeutic relationship founded on trust, empathy, and understanding.

Whether you are navigating a current crisis, struggling with overwhelming emotions, managing life transitions, or seeking personal growth, I am here to support you on your journey toward healing and wellness. Together, we can develop practical strategies to help you better understand yourself, build resilience, and create lasting positive change.

I look forward to partnering with you as you take the next step toward improved emotional health and well-being.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each client's unique needs, goals, and life experiences. I believe that meaningful change occurs within a supportive therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, and mutual respect. Using evidence-based treatment approaches, I work alongside clients to help them gain insight, develop effective coping strategies, build resilience, and achieve lasting personal growth. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to explore challenges, recognize their strengths, and move toward greater emotional well-being and fulfillment.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a comfortable, trusting therapeutic relationship. During this appointment, we'll discuss what brought you to therapy, your current concerns, and any goals you hope to achieve through the counseling process.

I will ask questions about your personal history, relationships, emotional well-being, and any previous experiences with mental health treatment to gain a better understanding of your unique situation. This helps me develop a treatment approach that is tailored to your individual needs and strengths.

The first session is also a chance for you to ask questions, share any concerns about therapy, and determine whether I am a good fit for your needs. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable sharing at your own pace.

By the end of our session, we'll begin identifying priorities for treatment and discussing the next potential steps to support your growth, healing, and overall well-being. There is no pressure to share everything at once—therapy is a process, and we will move at a pace that feels right for you.
